The fudge turned out wonderfully creamy and chocolaty, and was incredibly easy to make! I doubled the batch and made fudge with walnuts, and some without!
With five minute fudge, you can heat up the ingredients in the microwave, or on the stove-top. Either way it takes about 5 minutes and comes out delicious!
Ingredients:
- 1 2/3 cups white sugar
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk (about half of a 12 oz. can)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:
On the stove-top:
On the stove-top:
- Line an 8 inch square baking pan with waxed paper, set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt. Bring to boil and stir constantly. Boil 4 to 5 minutes or until mixture starts to thicken. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips, vanilla and nuts (if desired) and mix until the chocolate is melted.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Place the mixture in the refrigerator until set for at least 4 hours or over night. Cut into 1-inch squares. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
In the microwave:
- Line an 8 inch square baking pan with waxed paper, set aside.
- In a large, microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter. Microwave in one-minute increments until melted, about 2-3 minutes.
- Mix until all of the chocolate chips are melted, then add the vanilla and salt. Stir until the mixture is well blended and smooth.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Place the mixture in the refrigerator until set for at least 4 hours or over night. Cut into 1-inch squares. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Enjoy!
